Cricut cake decorating class at Scrapbook and Co. {Baton Rouge Cake Decorating Class}

Hey...I've got an adorable baby shower cake to post, plus pictures from my Precious Treasures Cricut cake decorating class AND pictures from my fondant class at Cindy's house!  Wow...that's a lot to update.  I would have done it sooner, but as soon as those classes were taught and the cake was baked, I packed up for Louisiana for a fun trip visiting family and learning even more about the fabulous Creative Designs cake decorating method.
So, stay tuned for all that (coming Tuesday, after a whirlwind trip to TX for TWO cake events!)...
Now...on to a fun announcement.
My sister, Jeni, and I will be co-teaching a Cricut cake decorating class at Scrapbook and Co. (11445 Coursey Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA (225) 293-9989) on July 11 from 2-4.  Class is just $75 and includes everything you need to know to decorate beautiful cakes yourself.
So, if you are in the Baton Rouge area, or want to take a little road trip, call today and sign up for what is sure to be a fabulous class!  I can't wait.

It's getting closer! {Omaha Cake Decorating Classes}

Well, this evening I teach my second Fondant 101 class at Cindy's house!  It is going to be a blast.  I've got my suitcase all packed up and ready to go.

I was thinking about how much fun this would be to do as a tween or teenage girls birthday party.  Each girl could get their own 6 inch cake to cover and decorate.  Let me know if  you want me schedule a party for your daughter and we can talk.

And...in just THREE days, I do my Cricut cake decorating class at Precious Treasures in Fremont, NE.  I think it is going to be great.

I will (hopefully) post pictures from both classes soon.

Elder's Quorum Cake {Omaha Celebration Cakes}

This cake is an 8 inch chocolate cake and a 10 inch white cake, both covered in butter cream and then fondant. The fondant easily pulls away for those who don't love it, but let's be honest...my fondant knocks the pants off store brands :)

I did not make the cupcakes, just the toppers and the banner. (Cupcake tower picture taken from C's mom's FB page)

The first basic fondant cake decorating class was a huge success! Thanks to all five of you who attended.

My first cricut cake decorating class is now listed on Precious Treasures website! Go check it out and sign up today.

If you'd like to learn the basics of how to cover and decorate a cake in fondant, contact me to find out about settings up a Girls Night In! For $12.50 a person, I will come to your home or meeting and teach the basics of fondant making, covering a cake, and decorating. Minimum 3, Maximum 6 (varies depending on the size of space you will provide, contact me for more info)

And no...it does NOT taste like the gross fondant you buy pre-made in a store! It is actually very sweet and easy to peel off, just in case you can't get over those past encounters with fondant.

Baby shower cake for Baby Elizabeth made only using fondant (and a grosgrain ribbon border)

First Birthday cake made using the cricut for the lettering and fondant for the zebra stripes and border.

Adoption Baby Shower Cake {Omaha Baby Shower Cake}

Picture of banner that I made for the party as well. Not the best lighting, but it couldn't be helped. :) Notice how the font on the cake and banner are the same? LOVE it.

Pretty In Pink Baby Shower Cake {Omaha Baby Shower Cakes}

8 inch round, ONE color decorations (I know there is hot pink, too, but it needed something more and since this was a contribution to a shower I was attending, I went with a second color I had on hand)
